Here are my Top 10 Positive Side Effects of Divorce:
- Snoring is acceptable again
- You can sleep across the width of your bed.
- You confirm that the reasons you are leaving your spouse are accurate.
- All your insecurities are laid on the table so you always have a dining partner
- You develop a new appreciation for the movies “Shirley Valentine” & “Fight Club” (in that order)
- All the things you didn’t work on become glaring possibilities for improvement.
- If you suspect your children are going to have issues, they become obvious.
- People EXPECT you to you refer to your ex-partner as “the Ass” or any other number of pet names.
- You have a grass is greener mentality and you’re sure it’s accurate.
- Not only is the glass half full but you have an opportunity to throw it.

Hey Pat! Love this list! True AND funny! The best part of divorce for me was not needing permission to be myself. Now that I’ve experienced this I will never start (or stay in) a relationship that requires this.
